Man dead in Macon after motorcycle crash on Broadway near Eisenhower Parkway

UPDATE: The motorcycle rider was identified as Michael Malone, 53, of Gray. His family was notified, coroner Leon Jones said.

ORIGINAL: A Macon man died Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle crash at an intersection on Broadway just two blocks south of Eisenhower Parkway, officials said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Broadway and Pittman Street south of downtown Macon, according to Bibb County coroner Leon Jones. The man died just before 3 p.m., Jones said.

Jones said the man, who was riding a Harley Davidson, ran into one car from the back and was knocked off the motorcycle. Another car then ran over him.

Jones had not notified the man’s family yet at around 3:30 p.m., he said.
