Pregnant Macon woman, 22, killed in head-on car crash on Thomaston Road, coroner says
A Macon woman and her unborn child died late Sunday night in a car crash on Thomaston Road, Bibb County coroner Leon Jones said Monday.
Tishuana Dean, 22, died after a head-on crash with another car at about 8 p.m. Sunday at 6199 Thomaston Road west of Interstate 475, according to Jones.
Dean was nine months pregnant and scheduled to go into induced labor Tuesday. Dean’s baby died at about 9:45 p.m., Jones said, while she died shortly after.
Dean was driving west on Thomaston Road Sunday night in a Ford EcoSport when a Kia driving the opposite direction drove out of its lane and hit her car, according to Georgia State Patrol. Emergency services took both drivers to a local hospital before Dean and her baby died, GSP said.
Jones notified Dean’s next of kin Monday morning, he said. The other driver is still in a local hospital with injuries, according to Jones.
