A 48-year-old motorcyclist dies after collision with truck near east Macon airport
A motorcyclist died in a crash in east Macon early Monday morning after colliding with a truck, officials said.
Michael Burnett, 48, of Macon was driving on Riggins Mill Road near Herbert Smart airport just after 12:30 a.m., Monday, when he collided with a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, according to a statement from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Burnett died at the scene, according to Bibb deputy coroner Lonnie Miley.
The driver of the truck was not injured, the statement said.
It was unclear in the statement what caused the crash or where Burnett was driving at the time of the wreck. The crash was still under investigation.
