Dance parties, drag and baseball: Here’s a list of Pride Month celebrations in Macon
The first day of June marked the beginning of LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the United States.
Macon’s week-long pride festival will not begin until Sept. 23 this year, but there are still several events scheduled this month that are open for community attendance and celebration.
Here’s all the details you need to get you there:
Pride in Your Park
When: Saturday, June 10, 9 a.m.-noon
Where: Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park (1207 Emery Highway, Macon)
Pride in Your Park is a community clean-up event that is being organized by Macon Pride, Southern Queer Folk Hikes, and Ocmulgee Mounds NHP. This event will be an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community while also engaging in environmental stewardship.
Pride in Your Park will begin at 9 a.m. in the Ocmulgee National Monument Visitors Center, where clean-up supplies will be provided.

Claws
When: Saturday, June 24, 9 p.m.
Where: Friends on the Hill (104 Westcliff Blvd, Warner Robins)
On June 24 The Tribe Macon will host Claws, a drag show and dance party to celebrate the birthdays of Christina Leon and DJ B3. The event will include performances from Christina Leon, Yutoya Avaze Leon, and Akasha Giselle Vidalle.
Presale tickets are available for purchase now on The Tribe’s website for $10 a piece and can be purchased up until the night before the event. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15.
Dine OUT + Shop OUT
When: Wednesday, June 28
Where: Across Macon
Macon’s third annual Dine OUT + Shop OUT event will be happening all day June 28. This community fundraiser is an opportunity to support Macon Pride, as participating retailers and restaurants will be donating 10% of sales this day to the organization.
Participating businesses as of June 1 include The Bohemian Den, Frankie’s, Just Tap’d, Ocmulgee Brewpub, Fall Line Brewery, Oliver’s Corner Bistro, Oh Honey Baking Co., and Chick n Cone. More businesses are being added.
Macon Bacon Pride Night
When: Thursday, June 29, 7 p.m.
Where: Luther Williams Field
To celebrate Pride, the Macon Bacon will battle against the Lexington County Blowfish at Macon’s baseball team’s home stadium Luther Williams Field. For each ticket sold, $5 will be donated to Macon Pride.
Tickets will grant admission to the game, a Macon Bacon hat, and all you can eat cheeseburgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, cookies, chips, sodas, and water.
Tickets are available for purchase now on the Macon Bacon website. The deadline to purchase is June 9.
Chosen Family Feud Game Night
Macon Pride will also host a “Chosen Family Feud” game night in July. More details will be released soon on maconpride.org.
