A man died Sunday night after losing control and crashing his vehicle on Thomaston Road in Macon, officials said.

It was about 2 a.m. Sunday when Clemex Gross, 52, drove his car east near the 5800 block Thomaston Road near the Publix, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Gross was near the intersection of Tucker Road when he lost control of his vehicle, swerving off the road and flipping his car.

Gross was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb deputy coroner Ronnie Miley, according to the release. It was not known where Gross was driving when he crashed.

The cause of the crash was unknown and the crash was still under investigation. Gross’s death comes just after a wrong-way crash on I-75 killed three people Thursday.

Anyone with any information in reference to this fatal collision is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
