A man at the wheel of a Nissan Titan was killed in a car crash on Hartley Bridge Road early Wednesday morning, officials said.

Chasin David Floyd, 32, was traveling south on the 4800 block of Hartley Bridge Road just west of Interstate 75 when the truck veered off the street and collided with a tree at about 1:30 a.m., according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Floyd apparently lost control of the vehicle.

Floyd was dead at the scene when authorities arrived, deputy coroner Lonnie Miley said. His next of kin was notified.

The cause of the crash was unknown and under investigation by the Bibb Sheriff’s office.
