A man walking on Gray Highway in east Macon was struck by a pickup truck and a motorcycle and killed after he ventured into one of the well-traveled thoroughfare’s lanes late Saturday.

The man who died, 31-year-old Nicholas Chalker, of Macon, was hit while “walking in” the highway’s 1300 block, just north of Shurling Drive, Bibb County sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

Someone from Milledgeville in a pickup truck first struck the man, who was then hit by a motorcycle, whose rider, a 27-year-old man from Gray, was also injured.
