Terrifying, gruesome and inhumane. That’s how a Georgia man’s criminal exploits have been described in a new Netflix documentary called “Girl in the Picture.”

The documentary tells the disturbing tale of Franklin Delano Floyd, a death row inmate who was convicted of several horrific crimes.

Floyd, born in Barnesville, Georgia, began his crime spree in the 1960s and continued for more than 30 years. Whether for murder, child molestation, kidnapping or robbing a bank, Floyd seemed impossible to pin down.

But, the “Girl in the Picture” shares the story of his longest victim, a woman kidnapped as a young child, then raped and abused into adulthood before being found on the side of the road.

Here’s a rundown of just a few of the crimes:

According to the Daily Mail, several of Floyd’s early offenses occurred in Georgia beginning in 1962, as Floyd sexually assaulted and kidnapped a 4-year-old girl. The kidnapping took place at a bowling alley in Atlanta.

Floyd was convicted of these crimes and was sentenced to 10-20 years in prison. However, only one year later, he escaped from jail. Floyd was out on a ‘medical errand,’ but fled and made it as far as Macon, Georgia before he was caught.

In Macon, a bank robbery led to Floyd’s capture. He robbed a local bank of $6,000; he was soon arrested for robbery and made his way back to prison until 1972.

The Daily Mail also reported that once freed from prison, Floyd continued his series of monstrous crimes; one of these including kidnapping another girl, raising her as his daughter, and then later forcing her to marry him. The investigation of her case ended up in the death row conviction involving her friend, while her murder continued to remain unsolved.

Floyd is currently on death row at the Union Correctional Institution in Florida.

The full story is now streaming on Netflix.
