Motorcycle crashes into pickup truck, killing rider in east Macon, cops say

A 32-year-old east Macon man was killed Sunday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into the side of a pickup truck on Jeffersonville Road in eastern Bibb County, sheriff’s officials said.

The victim, Ezekile Armo Akim Hoskins, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a sheriff’s statement.

The wreck happened at about 5:15 p.m. northwest of Dry Branch along U.S. Highway 80.

A Twiggs County man driving a Chevrolet Silverado was heading northwesterly on the highway and making a left turn onto Franklinton Road when Hoskins’ motorcycle, “traveling at a high rate of speed” from the opposite direction, slammed into the rear passenger-side of the truck.

The driver of the truck, a 71-year-old man, was not hurt. As of Sunday evening, no charges had been filed in the incident.
