Family raising money to pay for medical bills of 7-year-old boy shot in Macon
A 7-year-old Macon boy remains in critical condition at an Atlanta-area hospital and his family is raising money to pay for his care.
Neco Crumsey was watching TV with relatives in a Green Meadows Apartments living room when someone fired multiple shots at the apartment, hitting him in the neck. He was transported to a Macon hospital, stabilized and flown to an Atlanta hospital.
Family member Demetrice Flowers created a GoFundMe page to help pay for expenses related to his surgery. She wrote that Neco needed surgery to repair a broken bone and a torn artery.
“We’re asking that everyone with a heart to pray for him. You don’t have to donate money, a prayer to our lord and savior Jesus Christ will help also,” she wrote.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, and reported that no was else was injured. Investigators have not publicly identified a suspect.
