60-year-old Macon woman hit by car and killed on Millerfield Road, officials say

A 60-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed on Sunday morning on Millerfield Road in Macon, authorities said.

Debbie Pearson was struck while attempting to cross the road toward Jim’s Food Mart near the intersection of Millerfield and Jeffersonville roads, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

The car was traveling south on Millerfield road when it hit Pearson shortly before 7 a.m. on Sunday, police said.

Pearson was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office. There are no charges at this time.

This is the second pedestrian fatality in two days in Macon. Christopher Bradwell, 26, was struck and killed Friday night on Thomaston Road.
