Man wearing surgical mask and latex gloves robs Macon credit union, cops say
A man wearing dark clothes, a ball cap, a blue surgical style mask and blue latex gloves robbed a Macon credit union Wednesday.
The incident happened at 9:18 a.m. at the MidSouth Community Credit Union at 4810 Mercer University Drive, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
In a surveillance video of the armed robbery posted by the sheriff’s office on Facebook, the suspect is shown waiting for the clerk to give him the OK to come to the counter.
He next comes to the counter, hands the clerk a note and then leaves with the money.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
The credit union requires employees and anyone entering a branch lobby to wear a face mask in order safeguard from potential COVID-19 exposure, according to credit union telephone recording.
