Middle Georgia motorcyclist killed in late-night collision with car

A motorcyclist was killed late Wednesday when the dirt bike he was riding with no lights on it collided with a car in eastern Bibb County, sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

The crash happened about 11 p.m. at the intersection of Jeffersonville and Ruark roads.

A woman driving a Kia Optima was turning south onto Ruark “when she collided with the dirt bike,” which was crossing Ruark, the sheriff’s statement noted. “The dirt bike did not have lights and the female driver reportedly did not see the motorcyclist.”

Officials said the man on the motorcycle, Sidney Stone, 31, was pronounced dead at a Macon hospital.
