Two bodies discovered in Macon on Monday

Two bodies were discovered in separate, unrelated incidents Monday night in Macon.

Thomas Kupinski, 74, was found in a crawl space at his home at 912 South Plantation Drive in Lake Wildwood, while his dog was found dead inside the home, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.

It’s not known why Kupinski was in the crawl spaces, but he likely died of natural causes, Jones said. His dog likely died from starvation.

Kupinski had been dead for about two weeks, Jones said.

Someone who had been trying to get in touch with him but had been unable to do so came by the home, Jones said. They smelled a foul odor and called authorities at 7:48 p.m.

About two hours earlier, authorities were dispatched to 2434 Goodwin Drive in Macon also to the discovery of a body, Jones said.

Wendi Sandifer, 54, was found in the floor of her bedroom of her apartment by her daughter, Jones said.

Sandifer, who had been dead for few days, also likely died of natural causes, Jones said.
