Man shot, killed early Friday morning in Macon
One person is dead and another wounded in the first of two shootings in Macon early Friday.
Damond Cain Stevens, 38, of Macon, was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. Friday in the Emergency Room of the Medical Center, Navicent Health, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Stevens, who has no known family, had been shot multiple times, Jones said.
Bibb Sheriff’s deputies found Stevens and another man shot outside Bowden homes at Cynthia and Houston avenues about 12:30 a.m., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The other man, 25-year-old Jacorey Holloway of Macon, was shot in the buttocks and his injures were non-life-threatening, the release said.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found the two men outside of Bowden homes.
The killing marks Macon-Bibb’s 25th homicide this year, Jones said.
Pendleton Homes shooting
At 4 a.m. Friday, deputies were summoned to Pendleton Homes at 3401 Houston Ave. to another shooting.
“It was reported that the victim, a 31-year-old male was lying in bed with someone fired several shots through the bedroom window striking him in the upper chest,” a sheriff’s release said.
The victim was identified as Ryan Michael Brinson. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene of the shooting before deputies arrived. No suspect information was available.
