Traffic alert: All lanes reopen on I-75 north near Mile Marker 193 in Monroe County
Traffic was back to normal on Interstate 75 northbound near Mile Marker 193 in Monroe County after a tractor-trailer over-turned early Tuesday.
The 5:00 a.m. accident disrupted traffic for about six hours.
At 6:45 a.m., a wrecker truck was on site and northbound lanes were still closed, said Anna Lewis, spokeswoman for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
It’s hoped that lanes will reopen soon, but delays are expected for some time, Lewis said early Tuesday.
“Traffic is really backed up,” Lewis said then.
At 8:27 a.m., the Georgia Department of Transportation tweeted that two of four lanes were open.
The accident was expected to clear about 10 a.m.
At 11 a.m., the crash site had cleared and all lanes were open, Lewis said.
Another vehicle was also involved in the 5 a.m. accident. Minor injuries were reported.
