Employee ordered to the floor in Waffle House armed robbery in Macon

A Waffle House restaurant on Bowman Road was robbed early Friday by three masked suspects. Two were armed.

An employee was ordered to get on the floor as the suspects took money from the cash register and office during the 3:20 a.m. incident, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release. The other employee was in the restroom.

The three then ran out a rear door of the restaurant, the release said. No one was hurt during the armed robbery.

The suspects were wearing all black clothing and “facial coverings,” the release said.

The restaurant at 5440 Bowman Road is off of Bass Road near Interstate 75.

Anyone with information related to the armed robbery is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
