$5K reward offered in theft of firearms from a Forsyth business

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary and theft of firearms from a Forsyth business.

A dozen firearms were stolen in the Dec. 26 burglary of Ventures Guns & Stuff at 564 N Lee St.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering $2,500, and a trade association for the firearms industry, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, is offering to match that for the total reward of up to $5,000, according to an ATF news release.

“We take this crime very seriously,” said Arthur Peralta, special agent in charge. “Firearms trafficking is a serious offense which results in significant federal prison time for the person or persons responsible.”

Anyone with information about the theft and burglary should contact ATF Gun Hotline at 1-800-ATF-GUNS. Information can also be sent to ATFTips@atf.gov, through ATF’s website at www.atf.gov/contact/atftips. Tips can be submitted anonymously using the Reportit® app or by visiting www.reportit.com.
