Production crews shooting short film in downtown Macon. Here’s how it could impact you.

Parking spots and some lane closures will take place in the next two weeks due to a short-film production happening at the Historic Macon Terminal Station downtown.

Big Indie Underground, Inc., is filming in downtown Macon this week and next, according to a news release.

“It’s amazing to see our buildings and community on the big screen so often,” said Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert, in the release. “I’m delighted we have such a great team with Visit Macon, our departments, and many others to market our community and help make these productions happen.”

Nine parking spaces will be reserved on the southeast end of Cherry Street Plaza from Tuesday-Sunday.

On Feb. 10-11, the north and south parking lots at Luther Williams Field and Cherry Street Plaza will be closed, eight parking spaces will be closed on Fifth Street in front of the north end of the Historic Macon Terminal Station and the Economic and Community Development Offices will be occupied, according to the release.

Also, on Feb. 11, there will be intermittent traffic control on Fifth Street between Mulberry and Poplar Streets.

The nine parking spaces on the southeast end of Cherry Street Plaza will be reserved again on Feb. 12-13, and the Economic and Community Development Offices will be used on Feb. 12 as well, according to the release.

Macon has hosted several film productions in the past, including “Watchmen,” “Zombieland” and “Black Widow,” according to a Telegraph article.
