Fiery crash on I-75 in Bibb leaves one dead, another in critical condition, deputies say

One person is dead and another hospitalized in critical condition after a fiery crash late Wednesday on Interstate 75 in Bibb County.

Anthony Andrews, 57, of Fort Valley, and Kang Suk Choi, 50, of Suwanee, were both taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, after their vehicles collided and burst into flames, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Andrews died at the hospital from his injuries, while Choi remained in critical condition Thursday, the release said.

The crash happened at 11:19 p.m. on I-75 north near the Hartley Bridge Road exit ramp when Andrews was driving a 2019 Nissan Altima the wrong way and collided with a 2007 Lexus ES350 that Choi was driving, according to the release.

The crash is under investigation.
