Macon man dies after drive-by shooting

A man died Sunday following a drive-by shooting in Macon.

Edward Clarence Durham Jr., 21, of Macon, was pronounced dead at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office release.

He was shot at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday outside of a residence in the 400 block of Holloway Street, near Eisenhower Parkway and Broadway.

A black male in a white Chevrolet 4-door car drove up and began firing at Durham, the release stated. He was struck once in the head. He was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle. Shortly before 2:30 p.m. the sheriff’s office was notified that he had been pronounced dead.

It was the third homicide of the year in Bibb County, said Coroner Leon Jones.
