A man died Sunday following a drive-by shooting in Macon.

Edward Clarence Durham Jr., 21, of Macon, was pronounced dead at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office release.

He was shot at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday outside of a residence in the 400 block of Holloway Street, near Eisenhower Parkway and Broadway.

A black male in a white Chevrolet 4-door car drove up and began firing at Durham, the release stated. He was struck once in the head. He was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle. Shortly before 2:30 p.m. the sheriff’s office was notified that he had been pronounced dead.

It was the third homicide of the year in Bibb County, said Coroner Leon Jones.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
