Need something new to read? There’s 50,000 options at this Macon book sale
The Macon-Bibb County Friends of the Library’s Spring Old Book Sale kicked off Thursday morning, and hundreds of book lovers and bargain shoppers were chomping at the bit.
The biannual sale runs through Saturday and features more than 50,000 books in over 70 categories.
Bernice Carswell, of Dublin, makes the trip every year to shop for cookbooks and children’s books for her grandchildren.
“I collect cookbooks and read through them like a novel,” Carswell said.
The sale is located inside the Riverstreet Corners Shopping Center at 2720 Riverside Drive. Sale hours are from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5p.m. Saturday.
Although most of the books cost from 50 cents to three dollars, those looking for a bigger bargain can shop Saturday, when all books are 50 percent off.
The fall sale is scheduled for October 24-26.
