Hicks was traveling east on Ga. 49 near the intersection with Echeeconne Road. The tractor-trailer was traveling west on Ga. 49 near the intersection.
Hicks’ car left the roadway on the south shoulder with the right side of the vehicle. After leaving the roadway, she turned the steering wheel to the left and reentered the roadway but overcorrected.
Her car then crossed the eastbound lane into the westbound lane - striking the tractor-trailer head-on. After impact, the car left the roadway on the south shoulder - rotating and crashing into a ditch.
The tractor-trailer left the roadway on the north shoulder, striking a ditch with its undercarriage and then striking several trees with its right side before crashing in a ditch.
