Boy, 6, dies after crash in Milledgeville; another minor, two drivers seriously hurt
A 6-year-old boy died after a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Milledgeville.
Davien Allen died at the Medical Center of Baldwin County, Navicient Health, according to the Georgia State Patrol. He was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m., said Baldwin County Deputy Coroner Ken Garland.
Three others, including another minor, were hospitalized in critical condition.
A GSP trooper dispatched to the 7:37 a.m. crash on Ga. 29 at Hillendale Drive determined that a black Toyota RAV4 failed to yield when entering Ga. 29 and was stuck in the driver’s door by a silver Dodge Avenger traveling south on Ga. 29 at a high rate of speed.
The boy was a passenger in the Dodge Avenger.
He was a kindergartener at Lakeview Primary School, The Union Recorder reported.
The others seriously hurt include the drivers of both vehicles and another child passenger. The driver of the RAV4 was airlifted to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon, according to the GSP.
The driver of the Dodge Avenger was taken by ambulance and a 3-year-old passenger in the Dodge Avenger by a private vehicle to the Medical Center of Baldwin County, Navicent Health, according to the GSP. And 1-year-old passenger in the Dodge Avenger was taken by ambulance to the Medical Center, Navicent Health.
The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow-up investigation.
