Pedestrian killed in hit and run identified
Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian Sunday.
The victim was identified as John Thomas, 51. He was found alongside Ocmulgee East Boulevard at about 1:35 p.m. Sunday, although the coroner’s office estimated he was struck hours earlier.
Sgt. Linda Howard, sheriff’s office spokeswoman, said the body was found just south of Interstate 16. She said she could not estimate when the accident might have happened, but she said the body was visible from the road.
