Woman thrown from Moped in Macon crash

A woman was hurt Friday morning when she was thrown from a Moped in a crash off Pio Nono Avenue.

At about 8:30 a.m., the motorized bike collided with a black, four-door sedan at the corner of Hightower and Hollis Roads.

Herman Story told Bibb County sheriff’s deputies he was headed east on Hightower when Johnnie Faulk, of Macon, pulled out in front of him.

Faulk told deputies he looked in both directions but did not see the Moped until impact.

Christina Martin, who was riding on the back of the Moped landed on the grassy shoulder where she was initially treated by EMS.

Martin appeared to be in pain as she was taken by ambulance to Medical Center, Navicent Health.

No citations were initially issued as the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
