Man, 62, had been dead in Macon apartment two weeks before discovered, coroner says
The decomposing body of a man was found Thursday in his apartment, the coroner says.
Willie Holmes, 62, who lived in Apt. C-12 of Park Slope Apartments at 4406 Chambers Road, had been dead for about two weeks before his body was discovered at 4:15 p.m., said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
Jones pronounced Holmes dead at 5:05 p.m.
An bad odor was smelled from the apartment, Jones said.
A maintenance man gave sheriff’s deputies a key to get into the apartment, he said.
No foul play is suspected, Jones said.
Jones said he needs the public’s help in finding Holmes’ family.
