Two Family Dollar stores in Macon robbed within an hour
Two Family Dollar stores in Macon were robbed Sunday night within an hour.
In each incident the robbers were described as two black males, but there were differences in the descriptions of their clothing and weapons, leading investigators to believe it may not have been the same robbers.
The first robbery happened at 9:05 p.m. at the Family Dollar at 160 Emery Highway, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office release. The two men entered the store with black hooded sweatshirts covering their faces. One of the suspects held a shotgun while the other had a handgun.
They demanded cash from the register and fled with an undisclosed amount.
The suspect with the shotgun wore gray sweat pants and white tennis shoes. The other suspect wore black sweat pants with white stripes on the sides and black tennis shoes.
At 9:57 p.m. two men robbed the Family Dollar at 2529 Houston Avenue. Both suspects entered the store brandishing handguns.
They demanded cash from the register and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount. They ran north on Houston Avenue. Both wore black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and each carried a black book bag. One had a red bandana over his face and the other had a black scarf over his face. The suspect with the black scarf wore gray Nike Air Max shoes with a lime green stripe on the side.
