Macon lottery ticket worth a million dollars as Mega Millions jackpot nears a billion
Nearly a billion dollars will be up for grabs Friday in a Mega Millions record jackpot.
No one matched all the numbers in Tuesday’s drawing, so the jackpot is expected to hit $900 million.
The cash option will be about $513 million.
“Georgians love big jackpots, so this is an exciting time for us,” Georgia Lottery president and CEO Gretchen Corbin said in a news release. “While our big jackpots are a lot of fun, they also generate additional dollars for the important educational programs we fund.”
Winning Mega Millions numbers in the Oct. 16 drawing were: 3-45-49-61-69 and a Mega Ball of 9.
Someone bought a $1 million winning ticket at the Circle K at 2580 Riverside Drive in Macon by matching the first five numbers without the Mega Ball.
Another $50,000 winning ticket matching four numbers and the Mega Ball with the 5 X Megaplier was purchased at the Circle M. Food Shop in Clayton.
Three other people won $10,000 by matching four numbers and the Mega Ball, including someone who bought a ticket at Welcome Food at 510 S. Camellia Blvd. in Fort Valley.
Winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim prizes.
