Macon Mayhem readies for Ugly Christmas Sweater and Teddy Bear Toss Night

Macon Mayhem is gearing up for their Ugly Christmas Sweater and Teddy Bear Toss Night on Dec. 16.

The team recently released the design for the sweaters, or specialty jerseys, for the annual event that benefits the Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health.

They’ll be worn by the team during the game and auctioned off afterward, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the hospital.

Also, fans are encouraged to bring new or slightly-used teddy bears to throw onto the ice after the Mayhem’s score their first goal. All the teddy bears are given to the hospital. Last year, fans tossed 708 teddy bears on the ice.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Children’s Hospital again this year,” Mayhem Assistant General Manager Blair Floyd said a news release.

“We love providing for our central Georgia family, and providing for the Children’s Hospital, especially this time of year, is something we enjoy doing and take great pride in.”
