Looking for great Christmas lights? Ga. Power spotlights the best holiday decorations
Now that the turkey has been stripped to the bone, holiday decorating is on the Thanksgiving weekend menu.
As families haul out the holly, Christmas lights and garland, Georgia Power is keeping watch.
For the second year, the utility company is holding its Light Up the Holidays contest, offering a VIP experience at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day.
Through Dec. 21, Georgia Power is asking for photographs of holiday displays at homes and businesses.
Entries should be uploaded to facebook.com/GeorgiaPower.
Contestants will share their photos on social media and encourage friends and family to vote for their entry on the contest tab.
Each week a random entry will be selected to win four tickets to either Magical Nights of Lights 2017 at Lake Lanier Islands; Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden; 2017 December Nights & Holiday Lights at Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens; Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens; or the Snow Mountain & Christmas Adventure at Stone Mountain Park.
Based on the total number of votes received, the grand prize will be awarded Christmas week and will provide the winner with four tickets to a VIP experience for four at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1, 2018.
The winner will be awarded a contest trophy during the game.
Two runners-up will receive a $250 gift card to the Georgia Power Marketplace.
