Officials from Macon-Bibb County and the East Macon Youth Macon Baseball league, along with players, coaches and family members came out Saturday for a celebration of opening day and upgrades to the park.

The public is invited to weigh in on the next phase of improvements to the Delores A. Brooks Recreation Center.

The forum will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rosa Jackson Community Center since repairs are ongoing to the Brooks park’s sewage system, a news release said.

The next phase of improvements to the park formerly known as the East Macon Recreation Center will be paid for with $2.4 million in special purpose local option sales tax money.

Rosa Jackson is located at 1211 Maynard St.

WM2A Architects will draw the designs for the recreation center’s upgrades.
