Search underway for Wilkinson man who fell into pond while fishing with brother
State and Wilkinson County agencies are searching for a 66-year-old who fell into a pond while fishing with his brother.
The Georgia State Patrol and Department of Natural Resources ramped up the search Friday morning for Frank Coverson after he fell into a Lavender Road pond when the boat capsized Thursday. His older brother also fell into the pond, but was able to make it out safely, Sheriff Richard Chatman said.
The incident was a reported about 5:30 p.m. Thursday and first responders arrived before 6 p.m.
On Friday morning, dive teams and other methods were being used to to try to find Coverson, the sheriff said.
