Gov. Nathan Deal is scheduled to join others Friday for the dedication of a restored stain-glass window at Christ Episcopal Church.
The dedication will be held in the sanctuary of the Macon church, located at 582 Walnut St., at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited.
Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at Mercer University is dedicating the window in memory of Dr. Otis Allan Glazebrook, who was rector of the church from 1878-1881. Later, he was chaplain of the University of Virginia and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Among other accomplishments, Glazebrooks helped found ATO as well as the chapter at Mercer University.
Deal, a member of ATO and former president of the Mercer chapter, is expected to formally present the window to the church, organizers said. Artists from Henigman Remodeling and Glass in Forsyth restored the window.
