Macon youth baseball star selected to attend tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports
A nine-year-old was recognized at a recent Macon-Bibb County Commission meeting for his baseball prowess.
Keon Johnson was selected in June as one of 28 players for a United States Specialty Sports Association nine-and-under Atlantic regional team. The Alexander II Magnet School student will get the opportunity to participate this summer in the USSSA All American Games that will be held in August at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
Johnson also plays for the Vine-Ingle Little League at Freedom Park.
“On behalf of Macon-Bibb County, we commend you for your outstanding athletic ability in baseball,” Commissioner Al Tillman said during the County Commission meeting.
