Weeks after two Georgia corrections officers were shot to death while transporting inmates, officials will update the public on the investigation.

The Georgia Department of Corrections is holding a press briefing Friday morning.

The department will meet in Atlanta for the review of the June 13 escape of Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose and the killing of officers Curtis Billue and Chris Monica.

Although the Georgia Department of Corrections is headquartered in Forsyth, the briefing is going to be held at the Georgia Department of Natural Resources in Atlanta.

Authorities apparently will not take questions, but only brief journalists on the “assessment of the incident and actions taken to-date.”
