Teen driver smashes into pole, knocks out power for hours
A teenage driver crashed into a power pole in Macon late afternoon Wednesday, knocking out power in the area of Eisenhower Parkway and Pio Nono Avenue.
It was about 5:30 p.m. when a 17-year-old at the wheel of a Nissan Pathfinder lost control while turning left from Eisenhower Parkway onto Pio Nono’s southbound lanes. He was not injured.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office told The Telegraph about 7:30 p.m. that electricity could be out in the area for five to eight hours. Traffic signals are inoperable and people are encouraged to avoid the area.
The crash is being investigated.
