This year’s Bragg Jam includes new faces, old favorites and a new music event
The lineup for the 2017 Bragg Jam Concert Crawl includes some new faces, old favorites and an added music event.
Notable artists performing during this year’s event include White Denim — the festival headliner — who are back three years after their critically acclaimed “Corsicana Lemonade” with more than just a new album, according to a news release. The group’s sixth record, “Stiff,” released in March 2016, “is a return to the Austin quartet's frenetic rock band roots.”
Other top artists include: Twin Peaks, Stokeswood, Jon Langston, Spiritual Rez Holly Ghost Tent Revival and Sundance Head. Go to www.braggjam.org for the full lineup.
This year the annual music festival will include an extra night of music with a show at the Cox Capitol Theatre at 7 p.m. July 28. The next day, the legendary Concert Crawl will be held 2 p.m.- 2 a.m.
There are a limited number of tickets to the July 28 show and VIP package options are available for sponsors and individuals, the release said. The VIP pass will include limited complimentary drinks on July 28. Attendees also may buy a FestieBestie pass which covers the VIP at Bragg Jam on July 28-29 and at the Macon Film Festival which will be held July 20-23.
Advance ticket sales for the 2017 Bragg Jam Concert Crawl are available now at www.braggjam.org.
Inspired by late musicians and brothers Brax and Tate Bragg and operated as a 501c3 under a volunteer board of directors, Bragg Jam has now given more than $150,000 back to local charities in memory of the Bragg brothers. Proceeds will continue to benefit the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail and other efforts that promote nature, art and music in the community. Since 1999, Bragg Jam has evolved from an impromptu jam session to citywide music festival to a full-scale arts festival and Macon's premier music event.
