Oglethorpe police chief dies

Oglethorpe Police Chief Harold Cannon died suddenly Tuesday evening at a business meeting in Savannah, Macon County Coroner Brenda Oglesby said Wednesday.

“He said he didn’t feel good and he just collapsed,” Oglesby said. “A massive heart attack is what they’re saying.”

Cannon had been chief for decades.
