A Macon woman won $50,000 in a lottery instant ticket game.

Melissa DeShazer, 45, won while playing the “Cashtastic scratcher” from the Georgia Lottery, according to a press release. She bought the ticket from Tom’s Food Mart at 811 Pio Nono Ave and was at work when she discovered she had won.

“I asked my co-worker to check to see if I was looking at my ticket correctly,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

Deshazer, who works as a radio dispatcher clerk, said she immediately called her family to share the news and plans to use the money to pay some bills.
