Coroner seeks next of kin for premature baby who died in early January

The remains of a premature infant, who died Jan. 7 in a Macon hospital, have yet to be claimed.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones is asking the public’s help in locating Mercedes Etheridge, the mother of the baby who died at Medical Center, Navicent Health, nearly a month ago.

Anyone with contact information for Etheridge is urged to call the Bibb County Coroner’s Office at 478-803-4190, or Jones’ cellphone at 478-256-2716.
