Navicent offers COVID-19 vaccines for kids 6 months old and up. Here’s how to schedule

Atrium Health Navicent started offering COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 6 months or older Tuesday, according to a press release.

Vaccines for COVID-19 were previously only available for children 5 years or older. The announcement from Navicent comes after the CDC approved vaccines for younger children in June.

“We are very excited that we have the COVID-19 vaccine available for children aged 6 months up through 4 years of age,” said Dr. Yameika Head, director of Clinical Practice – Pediatrics for Navicent. “Vaccination is the best tool we have to protect our children from serious illness and hospitalization due to COVID-19.”

Physicians and representatives from Navicent encourage both children and adults to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“This disease has not gone away. Children have suffered from COVID-19 complications... and some have died,” Head said. “We must do all we can to protect our children, including the most vulnerable babies and toddlers.”
