Here’s how you can get a free mask and COVID-19 test in Bibb County this week

The Macon-Bibb County Health Department, along with several community partners, will hold several mask giveaway events in Bibb County over the next few weeks.

The mask giveaways come as Georgia COVID-19 case numbers continue to rise. As of Aug. 2, Bibb County has 3,150 cumulative cases and 61 deaths. The CDC recommends that people use a facemask or homemade cloth face-covering in public spaces. Gov. Brian Kemp’s most recent executive order encourages, but does not require, masks, and Macon Mayor Robert Reichert vetoed a Bibb County mask mandate passed by commissioners in July.

Here’s where you can get a free mask this week:

  • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at Anderson’s Diner at 3700 Pio Nono Avenue.
  • 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at Third Street Park In partnership with NewTown Macon, United Way and United Volunteer.

  • 9 a.m. – noon Aug. 15 at the Tubman Museum at 310 Cherry Street
