Houston Co. HS suspends football practice after employee tests positive for COVID-19

Houston County High School is suspending all football practices after a school employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee recently worked in an area with student athletes present, according to a release from the Houston County Board of Education. Football practices will be suspended until July 20.

The school has informed those who may have come in contact with the employee about their potential exposure to COVID-19.

Information about the employee is not available due to HIPAA, according to Houston County Schools. The district is working with the employee and assisting in contact tracing. The practice area will be cleaned and sanitized prior to the team returning to practice.
