More than 1,600 COVID-19 cases reported in Middle Georgia. Here are the cases by county

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 1,618 positive COVID-19 cases in Middle Georgia in its 1 p.m. update Sunday.

Bibb County leads the area with 396 total cases. Houston County has 16 deaths, the most in Middle Georgia.

State health officials have not provided a breakdown of the residents tested for COVID-19 in each county. The state is also not tracking the number of people who have recovered from COVID-19.

At 1 p.m., the state of Georgia reported 37,642 confirmed cases and 1,606 deaths, with 65 of those in Middle Georgia.
