Middle Georgia reaches more than 1,390 positives cases of COVID-19. Here’s a county breakdown
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 1,391 positive COVID-19 cases in Middle Georgia in its 6:25 p.m. Wednesday update, an increase of 12 cases since 12:25 p.m.
Bibb County leads the area with 367 total cases. Houston and Monroe County each had four new cases in the last updates, the most in the area.
Houston County and Bibb County each have 14 deaths, the most in Middle Georgia.
State health officials have not provided a breakdown of the residents tested for COVID-19 in each county. The state is also not tracking the number of people who have recovered from COVID-19.
A testing event scheduled in Bibb County yesterday was canceled as state labs catch up on an overwhelming number of tests.

At 6:25 p.m., the state of Georgia reported 30,737 confirmed cases and 1,317 deaths, with 53 of those in Middle Georgia.
