Middle Georgia churches, nonprofits to distribute more than 60,000 meals on Saturday
The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, along with five local churches and the Central Georgia COVID-19 Response and Recovery fund, will be distribute 60,000 meals at locations around Macon, according to a release.
The five locations will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and people can pick up a five-day supply of food. Each location will have about 500 boxes. The event, which will last until all of the food has been distributed, is the largest one-day food distribution event in the history of the food bank. It’s nearly double the size of the giveaway earlier this month at the Macon Coliseum.

- Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church at 268 Avondale Mill Road
- World Changers Church: World Changers Church at 630 Wimbish Road
- Community Church of God: Community Church of God at 5555 Bethesda Avenue
- The Healing Experience Ministries: Central High School at 2155 Napier Avenue
- A Kingdom Life; Shurling Plaza at 1701 Shurling Drive
