Middle Georgia reports 980 coronavirus cases, 35 deaths

Editor’s note: The Telegraph will provide an updated number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Middle Georgia at noon and 7 p.m. every day.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 980 positive COVID-19 cases in Middle Georgia in its noon Sunday update.

As of Sunday’s report, Houston County had the most deaths in Middle Georgia with 13 reported deaths from COVID-19. Bibb and Baldwin each have six reported deaths. Macon County has three reported deaths while Peach County has two. Laurens, Washington, Wilkinson, Pulaski and Monroe each have one reported death.

Here’s a breakdown of cases and deaths by county:

  • Baldwin 181, 6

  • Macon 70, 3

  • Laurens 52, 1

  • Peach 37, 2

  • Washington 34, 1

  • Wilkinson 31, 1

  • Jones 26, 0

  • Dodge 23, 0
  • Pulaski 20, 1

  • Monroe 19, 1

  • Crawford 14, 0

  • Bleckley 9, 0

  • Twiggs 7, 0

At noon., the state of Georgia reported 23,401 confirmed cases and 912 deaths, with 35 of those in Middle Georgia.
