State reports only eight new coronavirus cases in Middle Georgia on April 18

The Telegraph will provide an updated number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Middle Georgia at noon and 7 p.m. every day.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 723 positive COVID-19 cases in Middle Georgia in its 7 p.m. Saturday update, an increase of four cases from the noon update, which only reported a net two new cases. The cases were reported in Bibb, Houston, Macon and Washington counties.

As of Saturday’s report, Washington, Monroe, Laurens, Wilkinson and Pulaski County each have one confirmed death from COVID-19 in addition to the 10 in Houston County, two in Peach County, two in Baldwin County and one in Bibb County.

  • Washington 25, 1

  • Wilkinson 20, 1

  • Monroe 15, 1

  • Crawford 13, 0

  • Bleckley 6, 0

  • Twiggs 4, 0

At 7 p.m., the state of Georgia reported 17,669 confirmed cases and 673 deaths, with 20 in Middle Georgia.
