‘Drive up’ COVID-19 testing site to open in Macon Friday. Here’s what you’ll need to receive a test

The North Central Health District will begin offering drive up testing for COVID-19 Friday at 9 a.m.

The testing is by appointment only. The NCHD has multiple testing locations throughout its 13-county district, but this will be the district’s first drive up testing site in Bibb County.

To get a test, you need to call 1-844-987-0099 and receive a referral. Anyone who shows up at the testing site without a referral will be turned around, according to the sheriff.

“The Georgia State Patrol, the National Guard, and Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be onsite to monitor traffic should the need arise,” according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office release.

The state of Georgia recently reduced requirements to open up testing to more people.
